This is the largest freshwater lake on the island. From the bird-watching hut or at the bird-watching screen, you have a very good view of the lake. You have a chance to spot several species of ducks, spoonbills and the little egret. The bittern is rarely seen, but you can regularly hear its characteristic heavy ‘thumping’ sound here.

Watch from the dyke or look from the end of the pier by the marina, where you can see the waders foraging on the tidal flats at low tide.
