Recreatieboerderij de Oorsprong

De Oorsprong consists of one building with five separate accommodations, suitable for groups or - during the holiday periods (when there are no groups) - for families:

* Alikruik (max. 10 people)
* Strandgaper (max. 60 people)
* Trapgevel (max. 50 people)
* Wulk (max. 30 people
* Noordkromp (max. 8 people).
These rooms can be booked individually or in combination. In the middle there is an attractive covered courtyard. Each accommodation is attractively furnished.

Outside you have a private terrace. You stay with us in complete privacy.

At holiday farm de Oorsprong we also rent out fully furnished tents. From the De Waard brand. And you are welcome to "camp at the farm".

The farm dates from the 19th century and is the oldest farm in the polder of Schiermonnikoog. In addition to the recreational part, De Oorsprong still has an active farm business. A cubicle barn was built in 1972 where the cows are still milked daily. We milk about 95 cows daily with 2 milking robots. Come and have a look around the corner...

Over the years, the farm has been constantly adapted to the requirements of our time.
Renovated several times into what is now the modern recreation farm.
In various places you can still taste the nostalgia of the old stable.

The farm is located on one of the most beautiful spots of Schiermonnikoog. On the edge of a beautiful dune and salt marsh area on the quiet east side of the island.

From recreation farm De Oorsprong you have the whole island in front of you with its variations in landscape where you can cycle and walk to your heart's content and enjoy nature.

Our farm is very suitable for school trips and introduction weeks. Families also like to stay here and many weddings are celebrated. The beautiful courtyard allows you to hold a spectacular party for 120 people.
